Rules and Guidelines

I. Introduction

Unobtainium is a horde guild on the Uldaman server. We are a casual raiding guild and while raid progression and success is very important to us, we still strive to maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere. To this end we have instituted certain rules and structure. These rules are put in place to help the guild run smoothly and effeciently and allow members to better understand what is expected of them. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Shieldheart or Zakadin.

II. General Rules

    1. Public and Officer Notes - Public Notes can be edited by any member of Unobtainium. They may be used for humorous or serious purposes. However, please keep these notes respectful and unoffensive. Officer notes are used to keep track of player's real names as well as what professions that character has. On Alt characters, officer notes will show what main character that alt belongs to.

    2. Alt Characters - Alternate Characters are allowed into the guild with the understanding that this character is not actually a seperate "member" of the guild. While players are allowed to have many characters in the guild, they are expected to declare a single character as their "main" for the purposes of raiding.

    3. Guild Enchants - Through the course of raiding the guild acquires materials used in enchanting. Enchants using these guild mats are available to members and above at the discretion of the guild leader. As a general rule, we will give half of the crystals required for the enchant.

III. Ranks

Initiate
Initiates are the lowest rank in the guild. All new members are initiates. Initiates will be promoted to member once the officers have deemed them useful to the guild and have seen that they are willing and able to contribute to the guild.

    * Using Guild Chat
    * Viewing Public and Officer Notes

Members are the backbone of the guild. Members are people who have been deemed useful in game and/or socially by the Officers. Members are the first rank to gain access to the guild bank. Members can be promoted based upon many factors by the officers.

    * Frequently attend guild raids
    * Show exceptional aptitude for their role
    * Have access to 60g from the guild bank per day for repairs

    * Guide and direct the raid

IV. Guild Bank

Unobtainium has a guild bank that holds items neccessary to guild raids, crafting, and other matters. The rules specific to the guild bank can be found here

V. Raid Structure

General Guidelines

Our raid nights are Tuesday and Thursday  from 7:30 to 11:30 Server time.

Players will be expected to accept raid invitations on the calendar by noon on the day of the event.

If you signup, you are expected to:

    * Log on and be prepared for the raid.
    * Follow the instructions of the Raid leaders

All members are expected to act in a respectful and helpful manor. If someone is causing a disturbance by their behavior, a warning may be issued. If the conduct isn't corrected, removal from the raid is an option. We understand that raiding should be interactive and fun; however, please keep vent and raid warnings clear so that raid leaders can more easily give instructions. During boss fights vent must be kept clear except for pertitent information to the fight.

Raid Selection
Raid leaders with the assistance of officers and the Guild Leaders are repsonsible for selecting the members that go on raids based upon several factors:

    * Specific classes that are needed
    * Invitation Acceptance
    * Past performance
    * Discretion

If a member is not initially selected for a raid there will be a reserve list of members ready to go on that raid. To be on this list your character must be ready and stationed outside the instance, but the guild member does not have to currently be playing on that character as long as they remain within contact. The guild leader and Officers may assist with any questions relating to raid selection.
